June 28, 1944 SGT. CORRIE, LINDSAY, IN CANADA AS INSTRUCTOR
Sgt. Corrie, Kent St., has returned to his home after serving several years overseas.
While trying to contact Sgt. Corrie Tuesday, The Post was advised that he and Mrs. Corrie were in Toronto. However, his daughter was able to tell something of her father’s history since joining the services.
Sgt. Corrie enlisted with the 45th Battery, R.C.A., at Lindsay, early in the war and has seen several years active service overseas.
His daughter said she didn’t think her father was in Canada permanently, but that he was going to Winnipeg as an instructor, temporarily at least.
Sgt. Corrie is an expert signaler and it may be in this work that he will act as an instructor.

This card is part of a larger collection of World War II personnel clippings. The project began in 1944 at the Lindsay Library. The intent was to gather together as much information as possible on the military record and the service of people from the Town of Lindsay and the County of Victoria (now Kawartha Lakes) who served in the war. To that end, during the years 1944, 1945, and 1946, members of the public donated photographs and updated information about their loved ones. Both library staff and the public saved and donated newspaper clippings. Some of the files contain great amounts of detail, while others have just a name.
