No date [1943] The Clarke brothers and their sister
Left to right in the above picture of the Clarke family, shows Gunner R. J. Clarke, Mrs. Jean Davey, Sgt. J. Clarke, and kneeling, Gunner Robert Clarke.
Three brothers, as named above, represent the family of Mr. W. E. and the late Mrs. Clarke, in the armed services of their country. They are all on active duty, and all were recruits of the Major Ed Jones to the 56th Anti-Tank Battery of Lindsay. No wonder their sister is looking very pleased with herself.
May 4, 1943 Gnr. Ross and Bob Clarke left this morning for Petawawa after spending their furlough with their aunt, Mrs. John Caley.
August 11, 1943 Gnrs. Ross and Bob Clarke have returned to Debert N.S. after spending a few days leave with friends in Town.- Media Type

- This card is part of a larger collection of World War II personnel clippings. The project began in 1944 at the Lindsay Library. The intent was to gather together as much information as possible on the military record and the service of people from the Town of Lindsay and the County of Victoria (now Kawartha Lakes) who served in the war. To that end, during the years 1944, 1945, and 1946, members of the public donated photographs and updated information about their loved ones. Both library staff and the public saved and donated newspaper clippings. Some of the files contain great amounts of detail, while others have just a name.
