The annual Multiculturalism Day picnic takes place on Friday, June 22. It runs from 4 to 8 p.m. Admission is free. There will be diverse foods, entertainment on the backdrop of the beautiful provincial park. Several Halton community organizations will also host display booths with familyfun activities. "Celebrating diversity together with our friends, neighbours and families is the best way we can learn and grow together," said Kim Jenkinson, HMC executive director, in a news release. For 33 years, the HMC has been providing accessible and meaningful services that enable newcomers to quickly integrate into the community. "Halton is a vibrant and diverse community," Jenkinson said. "This event promotes equality, democracy and mutual respect of all cultures. HMC is delighted to annually run an event, which celebrates our differences and contributes to the richness and strength of building communities." For free admission and parking, people are asked to bring the event flyer, which can be downloaded at www.halton-multicultural.org. The picnic will take place at The Green Shelter in Parking Zone A.
