21 · Thursday, June 14, 2012 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com An educational foundation for your child's future Do you want to prepare your child as best as you can for when he or she starts the first grade? Kidex Academy offers toddler, preschool and kindergarten programs in a stimulating and developmentally appropriate environment for children to explore, learn and engage in social relationships. "We create individualized programming that is developmentally appropriate and reflective of the needs and strengths of every child" owner Fred Rainville explains. "Our programs and services are innovative and specialized to ensure that the individual needs of children are met in a supportive and stimulating environment." The newly updated Oakville based learning academy follows the developmental approach which encompasses the whole child and the vision that children develop skills and abilities in several domain areas at the same time and at varying rates. An individual profile is created for each child and parents are involved in the development of the profile and goal setting, which helps the teachers to create programming that is developmentally appropriate for their child. "Our teachers sit down with parents every three months to track their child's progress in the program," Rainville explains. Classrooms are designed to stimulate each child's natural curiosity to learn and explore. Sensory experiences engage the children in learning and allow them to fully explore and understand concepts of language, mathematics, science and social studies. French instruction, art exploration and music are also parts of the core curriculum. To ensure the students are receiving the best possible teaching available, all of toddler and preschool RECE teachers are extensively trained in the area of child development and are continuously expanding their knowledge through professional development and continuing education. The alternative kindergarten program is staffed with teachers with Bachelor of Education Degrees, Ontario Teacher's College Membership, and RECE qualifications. Kidex Academy also offers academic tutoring for students of all abilities from junior kindergarten to grade 8. There are also French tutoring, specialty programs and events.
