ACKERSVILLER, Jane (nee Butterwick) - Formerly of Mercer Street, Stratford, passed away quietly on Saturday, June 16, 2012 in her 91st year at Conestoga Lodge in Kitchener. She was born on December 2, 1921 in Fairground, Ontario, the daughter of the late Claude and Annie Butterwick. She enjoyed a career as a secretary working at Standard Tube in Woodstock until her marriage in 1951 when she moved to Stratford. She was involved in her community, serving as a Sunday School secretary for 25 years and volunteering at Stratford General Hospital for 20 years until age 85. She was a big proponent of "Participaction" only giving up her bike riding at age 87. Loved mother of Mark and his wife Heather (Kitchener); Melody and her husband Fernando Monte (Kingston); proud grandmother of Erin and Graeme (Kitchener). She was predeceased by her loving husband Clarence (1920-1995) and all her siblings; Edson and wife Audrey; Lee and wife Anne; Bess and husband Bob Campbell; Ethel Rogalsky; and Lona and husband Chuck Kragh. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews as well as life-long friends who were responsible for giving her the nickname "Mama Jane". Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Monday, June 18 from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Avondale Cemetery.
