through as trail or path is inches wide at its widest point and when you put your horses off the trail to allow an other person to pass they almost go out of sight covered with snow and then the trouble begins I froze both my cheeks going up but not very had otherwise I in splendid condition I expect it will take us three weeks to get to the top of the summit We ought to he at Teslin Lake in March The cor respondent of the cables that Mr Gladstone is dying of a cancerous growth involving the bone tissues back of the nasal passages Mr Herb ert Gladstone and others of the fam ily admit this Several specialists who have consulted have unanimously decided that owing to tho age and enfeebled condition of the patient an operation is impossible Mr Glad stones heart already threatens failure and the surgeons believe that the ad ministering of anaesthetics would re sult in immediate death Meanwhile opiates arc used as a palliative of the intense pain Mr Gladstone has suffer ed during the last nix months though they tend to shorten life The end is expected to come from heart failure and it is said it is hardly to bo long delayed ago grown WISH AOAIK There are hundreds on this trail that would give anything if they were home again It is something beyond description for me to picture to you the condition they have placed them selves in We had a sleigh and two of our dogs stolen the other night hut the police located for We are trying to get out of here as soon as possible and I thank goodness we are four miles from town or we would be in trouble all the time There have been three- or four steam ers wrecked coming up the coast in last two weeks PLENTY OP I saw inspector Strickland at the summit the other day He it is all talk about grub being short at Dawson as there is plenty to carry the people through until spring then we will be able to them of of their gold dust traveling The boys are going to town so I must go along with them for our trail is through a thick forest and is very dangerous to travel Three or four have to go together or vou would be held up and everything taken from you It is nothing to hear of a shoot ing affray there have been several killed since we have been here but they are mostly people that do not mind their own business We were charged 200 for just land ing our goods on the wharf and an other for landing them out here at camp My letters will he longer when we get to Lake Dreadfully Nervous Gestb I was dreadfully nervous and for relief took your Karla Clover Tea It quieted my and strengthened my whole Nervous System was troubled with Constipation Kidney and Bowel trouble Your Tea cleaned my system thoroughly that I rapidly re gained health and strength Mrs A Sweet Hartford Conn Sold by E Lehman Just a little dollar on its mission sent makes a lot of people glad eaeli time the coin is spent You pay it to the butcher for meat to give you strength he takes it to the grocer from whom it goes at length some bit of lace or cloth his letter half to buy or helps to get Iter summer hat to make her rival sigh The dry good man sends on the coin to pay his market bill and though the coin is often spent it stays a dollar still And every time its spent at home some act of good is done in local indus tries ere setting of the sun But if you take that shining coin and break the local chain the chances are that from afar twill not return again If once it passes out of town butch er and the baker the grocer and the dry goods man the cook the under taker the carpenter and every one will the chance to touch coin ere setting of tlie sun Just keep it moving well and every time it changes hands somebodys goods twill sell That single little dollar has thus a wonderful power to make better a dozen times an hour It pays the bills and wards off ills and neer its power relaxes to soothe the sav age doctor and pay your highbred taxes I FOR THE I Mills Que March The freight sheds and contents Canada Paper
