Abbey Park hosting 30-Hour Famine Abbey Park High School is hosting its World Vision 30-Hour Famine from Wednesday, May 2 to Thursday, May 3. The event is part of many such initiatives across the country that see young people raise funds through pledges and awareness of world hunger. The funds raised will be donated to World Vision. With every $30 raised a child will be fed for a month. Since the formation of the event in 1992, the 30-Hour Famine has raised approximately $140 million. World Vision works in nearly 100 countries and helps approximately 100 million people each year. The Abbey Park famine will begin at 8 a.m. on May 2 and end at 3 p.m. on May 3.
