French schools are named By Dominik Kurek OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF About 150 elementary and secondary students recently celebrated their first year at the new French elementary and secondary schools in Oakville with a banner unveiling and official ribbon-cutting ceremony. The celebration took place Friday at the 150 Ridge Dr. school, which houses an elementary and secondary school in one building. As is common with all schools at the French public school board (Conseil scolaire Viamonde), the celebration took place mid-way through the first year, just after the schools received their names.
