Years later, when his younger brother Henry started working in the cork business as well, Jelinek had a little more free time. Wanting to keep his passion for sports alive, he founded the sporting goods store Jelinek Sports. "He even built a lighted tennis court behind the warehouse on South Service Road," wrote Nick, "so he could `test the racquets' during the work day." Early in his career, Jelinek travelled quite a bit for business, which was rare at the time for someone in his 20s, Nick stated. He travelled to Asia three or four times a year to help grow his manufacturing and import SUBMITTED PHOTO FAMILY TEAM: Frank Jelinek (second from left) with, from left, brothers Richard, Otto, Henry, and sister Maria at a 2005 family Olympics event held in Aspen, Colorado.
