Dozens of local seniors climbed aboard buses and headed off into the night on December 8 for the Kinsmen Club of Georgetown's annual Seniors Tour of the Lights. After checking out local Christmas light displays, the seniors headed over to the Salvation Army Community Church in Georgetown South where they enjoyed coffee, tea, egg nog, baked treats and entertainment from the church's band and singers. Thanks to the Salvation Army Community Church, Major Renée Clarke, and the Kinsmen and Kin families for a great night! The choirs were singing, the crowds were cheering and the lights were twinkling at the Light Up The Hills Ignition Night on December 1. Hundreds of people braved the cold and flocked to Dominion Gardens Park in Georgetown and, new this year, the Acton Sports Park to see the lights turned on for the first time this season. Local school choirs came together to lead the crowd in Christmas carols and everyone warmed up with free hot chocolate and cookies from Tim Hortons.
