8 Independent & Free Press,Thursday, December 30, 2010 Auction Bulletin High-Value Gems & Jewels Seized By the Of¿cial Bailiff, appointed by the Lt. Governor of Ontario by Order in Council contracted to creditors, banks and the CRA Playground expansion gets go-ahead The Rotary Club of Georgetown's proposal to expand the Dominion Gardens Park playground with universally accessible play equipment was approved in principle by Town council at its Dec. 16 meeting. The $125,000 expansion will be funded by the Rotary Club, which will work with Town staff on the final design and construction of the playground equipment for children with varying disabilities. It will include an expansion of about 2,400 sq. ft., including two new ramps, four deck components, seven play panels and five independent play components, plus a rubberized safety base. Depending on when the Rotary Club can get its funding-- the group plans to seek grants and corporate donors-- construction will occur in the spring or fall so as not to interfere with the summer play season. The rubberized safety base would create an ongoing cost to the Town of about $1,500 a year for regular maintenance and a future replacement cost of about $35,000. Town staff will report back to council with a management agreement, detailing operating budget impacts and design costs. --By Cynthia Gamble, staff writer Gems seized by the of¿cial bailiff appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario contracted to banks, creditors and the Canada Revenue Agency will be auctioned.
