Canada went undefeated at the tournament, beating Korea, Japan and Norway in the round robin before downing Korea in the semifinals and Norway again in the final. Westlake led the tournament in scoring with six goals and nine assists in Canada's five games. Waterloo Gibson broke the hearts of the Oakville Titans in the other semifinal, tying the game with 16 seconds left in regulation and then scoring 19 seconds into overtime to down the Titans 5-4. Purvis once again did the bulk of the damage for Gibson with three goals -- including the winner -- and a helper. Answering for the Titans were Garrett Broad (two goals, one assist), Jack Drysdale (goal and assist) and Liam O'Brien (goal). Peewee red Two goals from Griffen Cote weren't quite enough for the Oakville Purolator Blues to deliver a victory in the peewee red final. Adam Quesnel had two assists and Maxwell Madon added a helper for the Blues in their 4-2 loss to Ottawa West End. The Blues were coming off a 2-0 win over the Kanata Blazers in the semifinals. Madon had both goals for Oakville while Ryley Wells was perfect in net to earn the shutout. Ottawa West End blanked the Oakville Royal Lepage Cobars 4-0 in the other semifinal. Skills competition Eight local players and two Oakville teams won events at the tournament's skills competitions. In the atom division, the Yellow Jackets' Brendan Wimsatt was the fastest skater, the St. Pats' Keelan Forats had the hardest shot, the Jets' Noah Lehman was the top breakaway shooter and the Black Ops' Shane Strugar was the best breakway goaltender. The atoMc Jets won the team relay competition. The peewee white division saw the Saints' Vasily Fedotov win the defense agility contest and the Titans win the team relay. The Purolator Blues boasted three event champs in peewee red. Damian Lee was the fastest skater, Ryley Wells was the top breakaway goaltender and Nolan Drury won the defense agility title.
