Purpose and Effect of the Official Plan Amendment The Official Plan of the Town of Caledon is being amended to incorporate policies to bring it into conformity with new Provincial policy directions contained in the Provincial Policy Statement 2005, the Places to Grow Act and the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, the Greenbelt Act and the Greenbelt Plan and The Planning and Conservation Land Statute Law Amendment Act. The Amendment to the Caledon Official Plan is also consistent with those of recently adopted Regional Official Plan Amendments completed through the Peel Regional Official Plan Review. Approval Official Plan Amendment 226 requires approval from the Region of Peel. Official Plan Amendment 226 has been submitted to the Region of Peel for approval. Concerns respecting the amendment may be sent to the Region of Peel. Subject to certain conditions, a decision by the Region of Peel on Official Plan 226 or the failure by the Region of Peel to make a decision may be appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board, consistent with Section 17, subsection (36) and (40) of the Planning Act. Any person or public body will be entitled to receive Notice of Decision of the Region of Peel if a written request to be notified of the decision (including the person's or public body's address) is made to the Region.
