www.insideHALTON.com · OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, December 14, 2011 · 22 Downtown Oakville bustling with Christmas special events Downtown Oakville is bustling for the holidays and the Downtown Oakville BIA is adding to the festivities. Look for strolling carollers in stores on weekends as well as horse-drawn wagon rides with St. Nick on Saturdays and Sundays along Lakeshore Road through the downtown. Carollers perform 5-9 p.m. Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturday. Santa and his wagon rides are running Saturdays and Sundays from noon-4 p.m. Downtown Oakville is also hosting a Twelve Days of Christmas Contest that began Dec. 13, featuring daily prize draws until Christmas Eve. There are 12 gift bags, each themed in tune with the Twelve Days of Christmas song, and including a $2,000 shopping spree -- celebrated with the theme of 12 drummers drumming. Visit one of the participating Downtown Oakville retailers to fill out a ballot and deposit it into an official ballot box between now and Dec. 23. The Downtown Oakville Business Improvement Area (BIA) was established in 1978 and represents more than 450 shops and services.
