Bronte watermain construction gets started Last week, Halton Region began installing a new watermain on Bronte Road (Regional Road 25) from Westoak Trails Boulevard to the Bruce Kitchen Reservoir. As part of the Region's Building a Better Halton plan, once completed, this project will ensure there is an adequate water supply to Halton residents and businesses in this area now and into the future. There are no scheduled road closures as part of this construction, but drivers travelling southbound on Bronte Road towards the QEW may experience lane restrictions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Northbound lanes on Bronte will not be affected. This project is expected to be completed in May 2012. This construction project on Bronte Road is part of a series of projects currently underway in North Oakville. Drivers should be aware of the following construction projects when planning their routes: · Road widening construction on Dundas Street (Regional Road 5) from Oak Park Boulevard to Highway 403 in North Oakville from four to six lanes. · Construction of a new watermain on Dundas Street from Old Bronte Road to Proudfoot Trail and a new wastewater main from Third Line to Proudfoot Trail. · Construction of a new North Oakville wastewater pumping station at 345 Dundas St. W., on the northeast corner of the Towne Boulevard and Dundas Street intersection. · Construction of a new Neyagawa water pumping station at 3200 Neyagawa Blvd. (Regional Road 4). · Widening of Dundas Street to six lanes from east of Neyagawa Boulevard to Proudfoot Trail and the Dundas Street bridge over Sixteen Mile Creek, including water and wastewater mains. · Construction of the second phase of a three-phase watermain construction project happening along Neyagawa Boulevard and Burnhamthorpe Road (Regional Road 27) -- Burnhamthorpe Road currently closed. Building a Better Halton is the Region's infrastructure construction plan for roads, water, wastewater and waste-management projects across Halton.
