Small ll b business forum f Openings in Halton police PEACE program Oakville MP Terence Young and the Canada Revenue Agency will host The Small Business Information Seminar tomorrow (Friday) at the Lord Nelson Room of the Holiday Inn. It runs from 8-10 a.m. Gina Degner of the revenue agency will discuss things such as how to set up your business, record keeping, GST and HST, income tax, reporting and remitting taxes payable, audits, objections and appeals and business accounts. This seminar is for people who are starting a new business and would like to learn how to keep records, the type of income to report and expenses to claim, filing requirements and rights and obligations. Halton teens interested in learning how the police investigate and prevent crime can check out the Winter Police Ethnic and Cultural Education (PEACE) program that still has openings. The program, which is for teens between the ages of 15-18, runs from 6:309 p.m. every Tuesday night for 10 weeks, beginning Jan. 24 and ending March 27. Each week, students will be given presentations by the different units and bureaus within the police service, with the emphasis being on practical demonstration and involvement. Students will also learn about cultural tolerance and inclusion, how the police service strives to provide equitable service for all communities within the region and how they are educating new Canadians and recent immigrants about policing in this country.
