Bronte Village to light its Christmas tree Saturday Mayor Rob b Burton will ll lead l d the h countdown d starting at 5 p.m. Celebrate the beginning of the festive season with family and friends as Bronte Village lights its Christmas tree Saturday in a day filled with activities in the historic village. The celebrations get started at noon in Centriller Square, located at 2410 Lakeshore Rd. W. There will be a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, live entertainment and some holiday y treats. Watch out for the signs that Santa's elves will be placing along the village streets, pointing the way to where you'll find St. Nick. Visitors are reminded to bring their camera to capture a photo of the jolly old elf. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos from 12:45-4 p.m. Sounds of the holiday season will also fill the air thanks to performances from the Oakville School of Music, former Bronte Idol, Emilia Sadowski, the Ha Penny Harkers Victorian carollers, and the grand Tempus Choral Society. Strolling carollers While the carollers will stroll through the village and the Tempus Choral Society will sing at the tree lighting, Sadowski will perform from 3:30-4 p.m. At 2:30, the Oakville School of Music will perform Believe from the Polar Bear Express. Visitors will be able to grab a song book and sing along. Bronte Village BIA Chair Wylie Freeman will welcome special guest, Mayor Rob Burton who, at 5 p.m., will lead the countdown to the tree lighting. Look for red and green balloons that will identify the Bronte businesses holding an open house that day. In addition to the festivities, there are lots of shops, sites and restaurants for visitors to enjoy. Walk around the village to see it all, stop for a visit at historic Bronte Harbour and remember parking in the area is free.
