The Rangers followed that up with a 2-1 win over East Gwillimbury, a come-from-behind 4-2 victory over Markham and a hardfought 3-2 win versus Uxbridge in the semis. Oakville posted a 6-0 record to win the 24-team tournament that drew top teams from the Greater Toronto Hockey League and Ontario Minor Hockey Association. The Rangers outscored their opponents 13-2 in round-robin play, including a pair of shutouts, before defeating the Mississauga Braves 2-1 in the quarter-finals, North Toronto Wild 3-1 in the semis and Mississauga Jets 3-2 in the final. "Great team effort by all 17 players," said Rangers head coach Elmo Nasato, "with outstanding goaltending and the boys playing hard and smart."
