Allowing just one goal in their six games, the Rangers went undefeated to win the recent Mississauga Early Bird Tournament. Backstopped by goaltenders Michael Bradshaw and Nathan Gravelle, the Rangers defeated the Toronto Ice Dogs 2-0, Mississauga Jets 3-0 and Guelph Storm 3-0 to advance to the playoff round. Oakville then blanked the Mississauga North Stars 1-0 in the quarter-finals, edged the North York Knights 2-1 in overtime in the semis and downed the Humber Valley Sharks 3-0 in the final. "From the goaltenders to the defence to the forwards, everyone worked extremely hard," said Rangers coach Paul Douglas. "This was accomplished against a lineup of f top teams in the southern Ontario region... quite an accomplishment." Other members of the team are Trevor Szaniawski, Kyle McLaren, Matt Simonot, John Carney, Cole Ouellette, Sean Keating, Ben Bernier, Oliver Chau, Ryan Tomka, Sean Courage, Tim Arnold, Jordan Boulding, Connor Droog, Aidan Challis and Cole Buchan. The Hornets went 2-1 during roundrobin play to advance to the semifinals, where they defeated the Sudbury Lady Wolves 3-1. In the final, Oakville scored twice in the third period but was unable to overcome an early 2-0 deficit, falling 5-3 to the Mississsauga Chiefs. Contributing to the silver-medal win were Mackenzie Calvert, Sarah Campbell, Annabel Child, Morgan Damery, Sarah DaSilva, Quinn Kolwich, Paige Lester, Sophia Lombardo, Sophie Lower-Stewart, Taylor Mahoney, Christina McCulloch, Erin McPherson, Gillian Miller, Francesca Monte, Katie Reilly, Avery Vickers and Olivia Wallin.
