And this one might actually even win a championship. Trinity's senior girls' squad this season features four Grade 9 students that play significant minutes, including Tiffany McNeil, Delaney Hughes and Liana Hughes (no relation) in starting roles. Another of the Titans' starters, Lauren Jamieson, is in Grade 10, leaving just one Grade 12 student -- Meaghan Perrotta -- on the floor for opening tip-off, and Grade 9 student Mara Douglas is one of the first players off the bench in coach Tara Boyce's rotation. But in spite of that youth, Trinity already appears poised to challenge for a Halton Tier 1 title and is already even thinking about a trip to this year's Ontario Federation of f School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) AAAA tournament. The Titans remain unbeaten through five games of Halton play, giving their perfect record some real credibility this week with victories over the previously-undefeated Nelson Lords and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Trinity limited the Lords -- the highest-scoring team in the league -- to two secondquarter points in a 60-43 victory Monday at Nelson, then took down perennial Halton power Notre Dame 60-54 in double overtime Wednesday at Trinity. "I thought it would take time and that we'd progress and get better," McNeil, who led all scorers in both Trinity wins this week, said following Wednesday's game.
