The founder of Cora will be in Oakville speaking to members of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce and their guests at the breakfast launch for Small Business Week 2011. She will be sharing her entrepreneurial suc- cess, including lessons learned and achieving quality customer service and peak performance. This is the 20th year the Oakville chamber has partnered with the Business Development Bank of Canada to present Small Business Week, which runs until Oct. 20. Cora is a Canadian success story. We are delighted to have her come to speak to our members. Customer service and employee engagement are such critical elements of a successful business small or large. Cora is a master at both, said Wendy Rinella, Oakville chamber chair. Small business is fundamentally important to the Canadian economy. Small business accounts for nearly half of Canadas GDP. Approximately one-half of all employed Canadians are employed by a small business and most importantly, nearly two out of every three new jobs created in Canada are created by small businesses. The chamber is hosting numerous events during the week, including a series of seminars on essential busi- ness topics, including online market- ing, social media, sales, customer ser- vice, networking, time management, expert financial, legal and accounting advice, and work-life balance. Seminars can be attended individ- ually, or in value packages of three or eight. All eight seminars can be attended for less than $100. A busi- ness after-hours and trade show event gives local business people the oppor- tunity to meet face-to-face with poten- tial clients and share their stories. Chamber members and the public are welcome to participate in the events during Small Business Week. Visit www.oakvillechamber.com for full details and to register. Cora will be special guest for Small Business Week kickoff
