Participants also donated more than 600 pounds of food to the Fareshare Food Bank. Oakville Soccer Clubs under-15 girls A team recently completed a successful season by winning the League Cup. Oakville defeated Erin Mills 3-0 to conclude an undefeated three-game run in League Cup play. Oakville previously defeated St. Catharines 3-1 and Dixie 8-0. Prior to the League Cup final, Oakville blanked St. Catharines 3-0 to win the South Region Soccer League elite division title and earn promotion to the Ontario Youth Soccer League for 2012. The team also won the Nike Challenge Cup and Barrie Spiritfest tournaments earlier this season while reaching the finals at the Frank Sobil tournament in Oshawa. Members of the team are Lindsay Williams, Allyson Clouse, Olivia Holmes, Sarah Kozma, Taylor Vandenbygaart, Celine DaCosta, Sarah Kelly, Ashi Paul- Ebiai, Carley White, Jessee Abrahams, Isabella Borea, Myranda Hobbs, Ruth Remudaro, Jaime Hicks and Alex Ratcliffe. Pel Borea and Tom Kelly coach the team, and Kim Hobbs is the manager. U15 girls A squad wins League Cup Despite limiting a powerful Nelson offence to just one touchdown, the Holy Trinity Titans fell 17-7 to the Lords last week in Halton senior foot- ball Tier 1 play. The Titans held a 7-6 lead in the third quarter until Nelson scored a touchdown on a long punt return. The Lords added a field goal late in the game. Holy Trinitys major came on a pass from Michael Brooks to Declan Cross. Brooks kicked the convert to account for the Titans other point in the loss, which dropped Trinity to 1-1. Nelson improved to 2-0. We had poor execution on offence and special teams for most of the game and made some critical errors that Nelson capitalized on, said Trinity head coach Joe Moscato. Defensively, I thought we played well and con- tained the Nelson offensive attack. The Titans returned to action today (Thursday) with a 2:30 p.m. home game against the T.A. Blakelock Tigers Blakelock is coming off a 34-3 loss to the Loyola Hawks. In other senior action last week, the Abbey Park Eagles downed the Bishop Reding Royals 15-10, the Iroquois Ridge Trailblazers defeated the Oakville Trafalgar Red Devils 18-14, the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders cruised past the Burlington Central Trojans 32-9 and the White Oaks Wildcats fell 13-4 to the Aldershot Lions. Titans slow down Nelson but still fall A 3-0 win over Niagara United A earned the Oakville Soccer Clubs under-17 girls B squad the South Region Soccer League Elite League title recently in Flamborough. Meaghan Perrotta, Cheyenne Bruyns and Dana Chomski tallied for Oakville in the fifth meeting between the teams this season. Niagara and Oakville finished one-two, respectively, in the Elite League regular-season standings. Jessica Demello collected her fifth shutout in seven playoff games and 18th overall this season. I am very proud of my teammates for our achievements as a team this year, said Perrotta, the team captain, after being presented with the League Cup trophy. We set ourselves sev- eral goals as a group leading into the season, and winning the League Cup was right at the top. Im so proud of what we did this year and am already looking forward to working towards next season. U17 girls B team collects SRSL Elite League title ELITE OF THE ELITE: The Oakville Soccer Club's under-17 girls' B team won the South Region Soccer League Elite title recently. The Oakville Soccer Clubs under-11 boys A team pulled off an impressive double to close out its season. The team recently defeated the Brampton Blast to win the South Region Soccer League championship, shortly after claiming top spot in its division and win- ning the South Region Soccer League First Division crown with a 12-2 record. The strong year will vault Oakville into the SRSLs Elite Division next season. Jack Scoular, Lucas Cisnero, Nicolas Noblecilla, Simon Norton, Niko Leberatore, Jack Kay, Ethan Persad, Gianfranco Mirto, Jeffrey Rice, Angelo Grant, Matthew Laic, Luka Frankovich, Christian Lopac, Sebastian Guerrieri, Jake Carenza and Christian Leone play for the team. Vince Mifsud and Italo Guerrieri are the coaches and Connie Lopac is the manager.
