Dorothy Byers is the new head at the private girls school. Byers had successfully served as the head of senior school for five years, and was vice principal of curriculum innovation for five years prior to that. Byers also boasts extensive experience in the public school environment, where she served as a vice principal for five years and a department head and teacher for 17 years prior to joining the SMLS team. The new head of school is also the pioneer of SMLS much-ac- claimed robotics program, and her achievements with that program have earned her several distin- guished external awards. Byers is a leader who possesses a passion for girls education, is committed to delivering an excel- lent educational experience, excels at providing ongoing development and mentorship to staff, and has a proven ability to build solid com- munity relations. SMLS, a day school for girls from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, is located at 1080 Linbrook Rd. Dorothy Byers
