Learning the Love of Performance for children ages 3 and 4 will be offered in three eight-week sessions on Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m. Children can be enrolled in one or more of the sessions and discounts will be offered for enroll- ment in two or more terms at the time of registration. Each session will conclude with a different in- class musical. This new program will be a natural transition for stu- dents that will go on to enter level one. The OCMT's regular program for school-age children, recognized by the Government of Canada for working creatively with children in their pursuit of musical theatre, has been offered in Oakville since 1995. We are fortunate to have been able to work with the children to explore their natural talents and potential, says Devaux. The pro- gram is designed to do just that. With the focus on fun, hard work and teamwork, all students perform in a full Broadway style musical showcase in June. A sepa- rate musical production is tailored for each of the three class levels. All teachers have university/college degrees and are sensitive to the individual requirements of our stu- dents. There is a five to one staff / student ratio and Devaux is person- ally involved in all classes. For registration information call: Dianne Devaux 905-842-9535 or visit www.ocmt.on.ca. Learning to love performance New pre-school musical theatre program at Oakville Childrens Music Theatre Advertorial ing it a family affair, you're instilling some life-long habits that will increase your health and wellbeing. The following are a few thought-starters: 1. Sit down together every morning for breakfast. Mornings can be hectic, but if you choose a simple crowd pleasing breakfast, such as cereal, it's a resolu- tion you can keep. Experts agree that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, More about the benefits of cereal can be found at www.loveyourcereal.ca. 2. Pick one TV show that you will all watch together every week. Make this a must-attend event. Everyone has to make a commitment to share in it together. 3. Make physical activity a part of everyday. It could be a bike ride, walking, skating, rollerblading, dancing in the family room or a scavenger hunt. Setting aside at least 30 minutes a day for physical activity is a must. 4. Set chores for everyone. Parents lead by example, so it's important that your children understand how much work their parents do and what they can do to help. Once they take on a task, make it fun for them by handing out stickers or playing music during clean-up time, and they will more than likely continue to do it. www.newscanada.com continued from page 15 Tips for families WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING REGISTRATION FOR THE 2011/2012 DANCE SEASON Programs Offered: Classical Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre & Stage Professional Programs in Intensive Accelerated Ballet and Vocational Jazz & Stage ELIZABETH M.
