hereunder is the definition of the various clauses Bylaw 1017 Fraternal Af filiate means a person who is not a member but who is admit ted as a Fraternal Affiliate in accordance with these Bylaws Bylaw Provincial com mands shall provide for the number of Fraternal Affiliated permitted in the command in any branch or branches expressed either numerically or as a percentage of the sum of or dinary life and associate members of the command and branches Bylaw 907 Branches shall pro vide a method of discipline and control by the branch over all Fraternal Affiliates of that branch including the right of the branch executive to reprimand suspend or expel a Fraternal Af filiate Bylaw 908 Affiliations will ter minate on the day of Decern following the date on which affiliation commences unless renewed by the branch Bylaw on receipt of per capita tax Dominion Command shall issue to each fraternal af filiate a card bearing the words Fraternal Affiliate SERVICE OFFICERS REPORT At a seminar conducted by Mr Paul McCarthy of Veterans Af fairs Toronto this past Saturday Branch 120 was well represented with the Poppy Chairman and CoChairman plus yours truly in attendance Mr McCarthy discussed all veterans concerns providing up- todate information on WVA CWPVIP War disability pen sions widows assistance and funeral privileges Questions from the floor were concise relevant to recent case experiences of Service Officers In the constantly changing world of Government thinking and legislation these seminars are valuable providing timely in formation to allow us to better serve our veterans Once I have compiled by notes into some understandable for mat I will provide members with pertinent facts at my earliest op portunity Service Officer Charles Sunnybrook veterans Jack Caplin of the British Army Medical Core 1917 wheelchair is one of several veterans living at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto who visited the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 120 in Georgetown Suqday as part of the branchs annual Sunnybrook Hospital Veterans Visit The event is put on by the local Legions Ladies Auxiliary together with the Legion The veterans are treated to a roast beef din and entertainment Caplin was escorted In to the Legion hall on Main Street by Branch 120 member Ian McDonald while being piped in by Stewart White Pipe Major of the Milton and District Pipes and Drum unit Herald Photo SICK REPORT On top of everything else Harry Allen now has to undergo ultra sound in an effort to correct an old problem which has flared up and consequently his therapy program has been delayed until the latest condition stabilises Jeanette expects early positive results and that his therapy will resume shortly We all wish him well Sick Chairman Charles Tutty LADIES AUXILLIARY At the General Meeting Thurs day September President Sheila Hicks and 1st Vice Presi dent Elizabeth McNeilly draped the Charter in honor of our late comrades Gwen Watson Flo Walters and Joan Brown Greenspan Marion McGugan and Monica Southon all went home with a bag of goodies Con gratulations Catering dates to remember September 26th October 5th and October Sports Dates to remember September 28th Zone Euchre in Streetsville October 4th darts at Georgetown register at 700 play at 730 pm October 5th Provincial Sports Meeting October for District Crib in Acton October 19th Zone Bowl ing Oakville time 1230 and October 26th District Euchre Fort Erie At Euchre for District held in Bronte on Saturday September Mae Tost and Vi Hewitt had the most lone hands Six of them good going ladies Our Bazaar to be held on Saturday November is fast approaching Convenor Trudy Paul wishes to remind all the members who have items for our very busy Touch and Take Table to please bring them to the General Meeting in Two of our members in hospital are Mary Harley in Georgetown and Edith in Peel Memorial Brampton Our Get Well Wishes go to you both and come home soon At Zone Crib held in Erin on Saturday September Georgetown A Team Mae Tost and Vi Hewitt came in third Well Done The Ladies Elimination Night held on Friday September in the Legion Hall was a great suc cess thanks to all the helpers who donated their time and ef forts to make it so On Sunday September 22nd saw the Sunnybrook Vets it Branch for their annual vbil Piped into the Branch by Stewart White and welcomed by Bob McNeilly President of Branch 120 and Sheila Hicks Ladies Aux iliary President Convenors for this occasion were Kelly McDonald and Ruby Bailey The Veterans were entertained with songs by Ken and Hazel Jean Cairns and Ruby Bailey Playing the 88s was Fred Roast beet din ner with home made scones prepared by Marg Clarke and cake by Marion Carney was on the menu Among our guests were Jack Caplin aged 92 Stinson aged 91 and our own years young member of Branch Gilbert English Kelly and Ruby thank all the Ladies illiarv and members who helped to make the afternoon such a pleasant outing for our Veterans from Sunnybrook Hospital We missed Bill and Matt who were unable to attend See you al next year rtlttHWII
