charged with one count of armed robbery in connection with the July robbery at Macs Milk in Georgetown consented to stay in jail when he appeared in Milton court for a bail hearing last Wednesday south was by a man who demanded cigarettes and cash while armed with a knife Police suspected Mr Cunn ingham and planned to search his residence but when they knocked on his door Mr Cunningham refused to leave his residence Halton Regional Police Tac tical Rescue Team were called in and surrounded the home for over an hour before Mr Cunn ingham peacefully surrendered Mr Cunningham also faces three counts of break enter and theft in relation to a series of breakins at The Smoke Shop in Acton where over 7000 worth of cigarettes were stolen An Acton man is in critical con dition in the surgical intensive care unit at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto after being pinned bet ween a bulldozer and flat bed trailer last Wednesday Carl Robertson of 2 Acton was airlifted to Sun nybrook Hospital in Toronto after Georgetown and District Memorial Hospital officials said his injuries including a ruptured lung and fractured ribs were determined serious enough to warrant the airlift say Halton Regional Police Constable Raymond Bruce in vestigated the accident and reported that at approximately 1130 am Mr Robertson was loading a bulldozer onto a flat bed truck in the driveway of his continued reversing on its own and veered to one side go ing off the edge of the trailer and rolling onto its side At the same time reported Const Bruce the right track of the bulldozer pushed the driver against the frame of the trailer temporarily pinning him The track kept moving and eventually pushed Mr Robertson to the front of the bulldozer where he came to rest Const Bruce stated two witnesses at the scene turned off the bulldozer and called for an ambulance Police notified the Ministry of Labor and the Farm Safety Association and have concluded their investigation Rockwood gold
