meet it quickly became a dual meet as two of the southern schools failed to appear for various reasons The failure of teams to appear for swim meets in the north especial Acton is becoming a sore point for the Acton coaches With only L Pearson living up to its commitment to compete the field of com petition was drastically reduced The easily won the meet and came away with many good performances Janeen Robinson and Tracy Jylayne led the way for the each with two first place finishes Robmson won the Senior Girls 100 metre breaststroke and the 100 individual medley Mayne placed Ladies Childrens ALTERATIONS REPAIRS Last week started off very well for Georgetown s McNally Con struction Minor Novice Rep team with a 3 win over Burlington The game in Burlington was a good defensive battle Georgetown s four defencemen Ryan Scott Ellis Brent Mc Clung and Bryan Stuttard all combined to prevent any scoring in the first period In the second period Ryan Bobor broke down the ice with a pass from Matthew to put Georgetown ahead by a goal Burlington scored early in the third period to tie the game The remainder of t e game featured good back and forth hockey with the Georgetown McNally Construction team finally popping in two quick goals in the closing minutes of the game Jason Hayes scored from Mark Maclnnes with left and with seconds remaining Jason Camp bell let one go off a pass from Bryan Stuttard to bring the final score to 3 Saturday was less successful for the Minor Novice boys with a disappointing loss to Brampton On home ice Brampton quickly went ahead in the game with three unanswered goals in the first penod Georgetown s Ryan Bobor clos ed the gap a little with an unassisted goal in the second but it was too little too late Brampton scored again in the third penod for a final score Brampton Georgetown the Acton Junior Redmen hosted seven other schools in their annual Junior Girls Basketball tournament The tour nament winners were Milton High School who defeated EC in the championship final An The Junior Redmen started their tournament on a winning note b defeating Lord Elgin in the open game 3635 Down points at the half Acton roanng
