new principal Ozzie Caldarelh had this past summer with one of the school teachers McLaren Mr Caldarelh had spent his vears a- an first in Etobicoke and then in the south area of Halton So when he wis considering where he would like to be a principal a school in North had never entered his mind But that thinking all changed while walking the fairwa with Mr McLaren He told me the school was great with a staff and great kids Mr Caldarelh was last principal at E Perdue High School in Oakville This is his sixth as a principal He has also and a comp ter and was a department head for each of these subject areas He replaces Karel Sum who moved on to General Brock school in Burlington Mr one of his main purpose s as Acton s is to enhance the school perceived image People incorreclK think of it is a rough school It might have once been but all people hive to do is tome to the school and see it the no longer true he satd The school image problem doesn t so much to parents in but more so to parents in other areas said Mr Caldarelh He said Acton is a feeder school for Brookv ille and Stewarttown students so its im portant parents from those areas know that its a good school Increasing the schools involve ment is one wav Mr Caldarelh plans to improve the schools im age To prove his point he said the school his already entered a float in the recent Acton Fall parade This summer Mr con
