mentor was disappointed when the only other Rebel representative in the Ontario high school champion ships Rob Veltman failed to make the weight limit in his 149- pound class Although Veltman just missed making his weight by the slightest of margins he weighed in exactly onetenth of a pound over the limit it was enough to disqualify the GHAC silver medalist from Ontario competi tion Yeah I was disappointed said CasUedine on Monday after the Mar 13 finals the Limestone City Rob made weight Meanwhile Murphys per formance at Kingston was satis- although the winner missed the medal round Murphy Georgetowns Major Novices opened their playoffs in the unfriendly confines of Miltons Thompson Arena It was obvious that our boys were up for this game by the en thusiasm they showed dunng the warm up and they managed to hold the heavilyfavored opposition to just two goals playing at even strength However Georgetown was assessed seven minor penalties which meant that we had a man in the penalty box for nearly half the game This burden was just too much to bear and Miltons three goals gave them a victory Trailing 20 in the second period and playing shorthanded Georgetown was fighting for possession in the neutral zone when Andrew gained con trol and passed to Shane Thomp son Shane flew around the left defenceman and charged the net He made all the nght moves but somehow the puck failed to cross the line Just when it looked like we would come up empty again smooth skating Allan pushed the puck across the line Georgetown was back in the game and pressing into the Milton end as the period wound down Then with only seconds remaining in the frame the same Milton player who scored the first two goals com pleted his hat tnck with an end to end rush and what proved to be the winninggoal In the third period Brad Kouyoumjian got Georgetown to within two with a nifty wrap around goal from behind the net on passes from Curtis Hoogendam and Thompson but Georgetown was immediately assessed two more penalties and although Steven Smith Michael Crawford and tned vahanUy they could not stem the tide and Milton scored their final goal play- skaters to three Our boys were not without then- chances as Thompson Kouyoum jian Hoogendam Brad Davidson and Sam Butt all made good plays in the opposition end but were turned back by Miltons netminder 9 9 9 9 Clearing Out All
