senior citizens from the Huttonville and area on Friday March President Sho Teramoto welcomed everyone on behalf of the Lions Club and introduced his members including co chairman Bill French and Chris Arthey A beautiful roast beef dinner complete with all the trim was served by the Lions assisted by their wives for the fourth consecutive year Following the dinner President Sho announced a number of chanties the Huttonville Lions support The chanties include the scouts guides Salvation Army in both and Peel Georgetown and Brampton hospitals Camp Dorset the Canadian National Institute for the Blind in the Childrens Aid Society in and Peel the Huttonville Church Canine Vision with to train a dog and a public address Diamond anniversary Couple celebrates 60 years together Former Georgetown residents John and Frances Walker celebrated their Diamond Anniver sary with their three children and spouses Shirlev and Dick Crichton Virginia and Francis Hulirre all of Georgetown and Bill and June Walker of Bracebndge formerly of Georgetown at the Inn at the Falls on Jan 21 Grandchildren and great grandchildren joined the celebrants later in the evening at their home The couple have 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren The Wdlkers met at a football match in Belleville while Jack was a student at Albert College and Frances was at high school and it was love at first sight They were married within the year and after Jack finished studies at Albert they moved to New Jersey while Jack attended Drew Umver sity In 1932 they returned to Toronto with their two small children where Jack did postgraduate work in journalism at University of Toronto before taking over bis fathers business Walkers Publishing Company as owner and editor inchief However teaching and history had always been his first love so after retiring from his publishing business Jack attended OCE and started teaching history at Georgetown High School in 1958 one of his first students in Grade 13 his own daughter 1 The Walkers have been almost lifelong residents in Musfeoka spending every summer at the familyowned Victoria Island In July they moved to where Jack accepted a teaching position at High He taught history there until his retirement in 1975 In addition to their son Bill two of their grandchildren are residents of Bracebridge as well Scott Jus wife and two children and Cheryl Frances and John Walker a former teacher at celebrated their wedding an Georgetown High School Photo niversary recently Mr Walker submitted her husband and two children the provincial MPP Mr
