Howitt opposes cutbacks in superintendents Local trustee Dick Howitt has spoken out in opposition to a pro posal that would see the number of superintendents for the Halton Board of Education reduced by two In a report to board trustees Thursday night Director of Education Bob Williams said over a two to threeyear period the number of school superintendents would be reduced from six to four Newly appointed superintendent Betty Moore would be assigned to the boards high schools leaving the remaining superintendents to share duties with the elementary schools At present with six superintendents each person has 10 to schools under his or her jurisdiction said Mr Howitt He added that with only four superintendents for about elementary schools workloads for superintendents would increase I see
