and that they had also attended Christmas at the Lee on Dec Ruby and Hardy Barnhlll of Brampton hosted a delightful Christmas party for Norval WI members and their husbands on Dec 10 Many thanks go to the Bamhills for their hospitality An acknowledgement was received from Grace Hedley for a donation of to the Erland Lee Memorial Fund in memory of the late May Cleave This was the agriculture meeting convened by Ann Wilson and Eleanor Hyatt The roll call wine agriiultural change the last decade was answered 11 members and three guests In keeping with the theme of the meeting a small contribution is being sent to the SHARE Agriculture Foundation Cecil Patterson of the Halton Farm Safety Association was guest speaker Mr Patterson has a farm program on CHWORadio from Oakville Saturdays at am In a very informative talk Mr Patterson stressed being aware of simple dangers Everyone should be cautious in this machineage era especially when there are children In the borne he said Mr Patterson tested the groups reflexes and the reaction time was clocked at an im pressive seconds Eleanor Hyatt thanked Mr Patterson with a small token of the WIs ap preciation A lucky draw for a first aid kit donated by Farm Safety was won by Gisele Malcbin and was presented by May Brander Lunch was served by the lunch committee assisted by the hostess and a social hour was en joyed by all Euchre results NORVALA total of four tables were in play for the Norval Com munity Euchre Thursday Winners were Isabel Landry Harrison Garfield McGilvray and Vivian Shaw Eva had the most lone hands and Elizabeth Wallace was the winner of the lucky draw Lunch conveners were Harrison Ivy King and Isabel Landry St Johns church celebrates Advent Christmas decorations in the sanctuaries and Advent banners of Hope Peace Joy and Love Lights on the outdoor tree in Georgetown Special music potluck lun cheons and carolling All of these factors added to the special pleasure of celebrating Christs birthday at St Johns United Church of Georgetown and Glen Williams Welcomed through the Sacra ment of Baptism are Colin Mark Irwin son of Debbie and Phil Caroline Nicole Marianne Catherine and Laura Louise Page quietly welcoming abused neglected and abandoned youngsters into their homes so they might benefit from foster care giving permanent homes to Crown Wards through adoption volunteering through the Agency Still others served on the Halton CAS Board of Directors or persevered under horrific working conditions as an early staff member in the Agencys old Milton headquarters known in the 60s as the Mack hole These are the people Heather Smith would like to hear from prior to the Agencys 75th anniversary celebration fin Feb 15 Mrs smith Halton CAS Co ordinator of Special Events says she Is anxious to speak with anyone who was connected with the Agen- Poster contest Secretary of State Lucien Bouchard has announced the laun ching of the Canada Day Poster Contest open to all in dividuals 18 years old and under The national winner in the con test along with their immediate family will be the guests of the government of Canada for the of ficial Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa on Parliament Hill on July The winning national poster chosen from the 12 provincial and territorial winners will become the official poster of the Canada Day celebrations across the country Only one
