Koreack 116 Sara enjoys the bars The parallel bars and Nadla are a couple of the favorite things that come to mind when Sara Mul Holland thinks of gym nasties And a lot of her time Is spent not only thinking about gymnastics but working out to become a top competitor for the Hills Jills I really enjoy the parallel bars the year old Georgetown resident told The Herald during a Jills practice Sunday A lot of people say Its the hardest thing about gymnastics First you get a little scared but once you get the hang of it Its pretty easy FLOOR ROUTINES She finds floor exer cises a little tricky and with her four other competitively ranked Jills members Sara spent a good part of Sunday morning work out routines Gymnastics has been her sport for about four years starting with summer programs organized by Hills recreation depart A couple of years ago one of her summer coaches suggested Sara try out for the Jills Last year she Joined the Jills live ranks moving to competitive status this year with few other girls about her age In one event last fall Sara won first place for a parallel bar routine MULHOLLAND Gymnastics she said requires almost con stant devotion It not something you can leave for a while and pick up again weeks or even days later Sara pointed out TOUGH TRAINING You have to keep working to be as good as you want to be Sara commented Much of the credit for keeping her fit she added goes to School where she a member of the cross country team They train you well there she said bating the teams work outs with giving her the strength to perfect the gruelling grace of floor exercises She runs on her own on weekends and does aerobic exercises with her mother While every Jill aspires to the excel demanded to make the Ontario gymnastics team
