Her exhibit, which is part of the Bronte Historical Societys Art on the Bluffs series, opens at the his- toric venue Saturday (Aug. 13). The exhibit closes Aug. 24. Kokoskys art is inspired by the views of Bronte Creek near her home, as well as the vistas near Barrys Bay where she plans to retire. Her cold wax work explores texture and layering of colour, which she then cuts into for expressive line and emphasis. Her water colour technique is described as direct with bold brushstrokes and subtle colour applied in trans- parent layers. Sovereign House is open to the public Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. The venue is located at 7 West River St. in Bronte. Children's Choir hosts auditions The Oakville Childrens Choir (OCC) is looking for young singers for the upcoming season. The non-profit organization is holding auditions, looking for chil- dren aged five to 18, to sing in its 2011-12 season. Auditions will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon. The OCC provides choral, musi- cal and performance training.
