help In a letter to council Monday evening Mrs H Acton explained when the town hall was closed last year the club only meeting place was taken away from them Since then they have had to rent various Classes are held every Saturday at St Joseph School in Acton Twenty five boys and girls are attending Heritage language classes The Creation Com munity expressed their gratitude to the principal of St Joseph s School Sean Briggs and to the Board of Education who made the functioning of the school possible Teacher at the school Mr Basic who the editor of Croatian Voice published in Acton said he Is happy with the children I am lad said Mr Basic That the parcnls have so much national con Without their help it would not have been possible to open the school Mr Basic also said If participation as now the number of pupils will increase next term Williamstown band to visit Acton High During the last week of May the band from Char Lan District High School in Williamstown Ontario will be visiting Acton as guests of the Acton High School Band The blncd bands will be per forming in a public con cert on May as the culmination of a years cooperative effort Last fall each band began preparing music so that the first combined concert could be given in December when the Acton band travelled to for a three day visit Although much of the time spent in rehear sal and In performances the band members still had the opportunity to tour historic Williams town to party with the host band and to make many new friends They are eagerly awaiting the return visit The band from Char Lan will arrive in Acton on May and will be leted with our high school musicians Intensive rehearsals will put the final touches on the band works that have been chosen to form the second half of the program For these the
