Z Bennett in Acton FOR ALL OF CANADAS BUILDING NEEDS years The office or curator which Mrs Klrkwood found necessary to vacate was hard to fill A committee of three members was appointed to help Mrs who volunteered to give some of her time to this work Mrs William McLean conducted the election of officers A letter was read regarding the new Halton District I Halt which is situated on the grounds of the County Museum A sum of money was voted on to give to the County musical festival coming up In May Mrs William McLean gave a report on the Halton District director meeting which told of the plans made for the annual meeting of the district Before the meeting ad the retiring secre tory treasurer Mrs Smith was pleasantly surprised when the president Mrs on behalf of herself and members presented her with a beautiful new I plate The plates will be available for alt members In the near future The monthly dance at the Community Cent e was fairly well attended All reported a good time the 1st girls for a pack revel The two packs met at the Norval Community Centre where they had a day of games songs crafts and good food The multl sale on Saturday April held at the Memorial Hall went off very well Mrs R Haynes won the 1838 sterling silver English Victorian butter dish which was raffled off Mrs Igleslan won the food hamper I would like to remind you again about the bottle drive 877 or Marj Thomson by Mrs Hannah Spring is the busiest time the year for Cubs and Scouts This year Is no exception During the past month the Cubs had a tour of Dills Print and Publishing in Acton which the boys thoroughly enjoyed especially the old machines and the dark room The second year Cubs at tended the Resource Day held at Knox Presbyter Ian Church in Georgetown This is for all second year Cubs in the District They enjoyed all of ft bin heir Last week the pack along with the Scouts and the Georgetown pack took a bus trip to the Automotive Museum In The parents and leaders probably appreciated the old cars more than the boys but everyone appeared to be enthusiastic about those neat cars running boards rumble Beats etc Following the tour they went up the road to Camp a Scout camp donated by Col Sam McLaughlin They had their packed lunches there and visited the Scout Shop to spend any money they had left One of our parents Liz Rock drove tho bus for us How she stands the constant noise is and we are very grateful to her The Scouts have also been busy preparing for their Explorer hike They made some nice bird houses for the and last week at tended tho swimming session at the Georgetown Pool This was for any Scout in the District who wishes to be tested for their Bwlmmlng badge Georgetown Rovers donated their time to do the testing Some Cubs nave earned badges
