100yearhistory for wooden building For years Ive been threatening to have a farm sale and get rid of all the goodies Mack has collected at farm sales Well we finally had one except me It wasnt a real farm sale with yodelling auctioneer and ladles serving pies It was Just an open house type thing or open workshop A lot of people dropped in mostly neigh bourhood men who turned out to be Mack spiritual brothers They all had a marvelous time poking round the treasures talking exchanging stories trying to sell Mack something Some of them came In for coffee and a visit kicking their way through the dogs and several hundred kids that were trailing mud through the house One long suffering wife was heard to sigh Do you really need that dear as her husband was cheerfully bargaining for a nasty oily little motor She sounded just like you Jen commented Mack ad The sale was not completely my Idea although I have been dropping hints to Mack for years and murmuring subliminal suggestions into his ear when he asleep It finally worked because he thought of the idea all by himself when he covered he didnt have room in his three car garage for even one of the vehicles Gotta get rid of some of this stuff he muttered and flew to the phone to put in the paper At first Mack only agreed to advertise his pal tractor It has been lovingly cared for purrs like a kitten gets better care than I do anddoesn do a lick of work Something like that just had to go However once he had made up his mind Mack got totally carried away making great lists of golden treasures he d agree to sell If somebody wanted them Why sell them give them away I kept prodding Well I gotta get what I paid for them growled Mack Why Mack got so deep into his new activity he even decided to sell my car my horse the kids and me if the right buyer came along He got his shop cleaned up sort of and sat down to wait maybe The first problem became apparent when several people went to the wrong address It seems I have as much trouble with my easts and wests as I do with my rights and lefts andhadputthewrongdirectionslnthepaper Fortunately a long suffering neighbour on the other side of the highway sent visitors over to us The weather did not oblige proving cold and like so we still had snow on the lumber and fencing The driveway fell apart along about noon and the marker stakes for the were still frozen In the ground several trucks ran over them Im happy to say Mack and his had a companion able time the kids had a ball the dogs were ecstatic all day I have only one complaint about our great farm sale Hardly a single thing left this property And Mack now has leads on quite a few other goodies he like to odd to his collection The old wooden building on Main St Rockwood decorated with aging
