Rock and Broom By Bob Mac Arthur Curling really gets off to an early start Monday is the big day for the first of the league curling for the season Draws are made up for the first draw It will last for seven weeks of curling en ding the first week in There will be playoffs then on to the second draw This year mixed curling will hold sway for Monday Tuesday and Friday evenings The men will take over on Wednesday evening and the ladles will be playing Thursday evening First Lost Saturday the first of the season was held There were teams in each of the two draws The winner of the early draw was the rink of Irwin Kae Hansen John New and Mellon The second place team was headed by Ted Tyler Sr with Helen Otterbein Lucille and Eleanor Third place was taken by the team skipped by Charles
