The annual meeting and banquet of'the Horticultural Society will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 6.30 p.m. in the United Church basement. Guest speaker of the evening will be Mr. Murray Muirhead, Leaside. He will demonstrate and talk about the use of artificial stones for use on planter walls and patios. United Church Youn People's Society held a bowling party at Keswick Bowl on Saturday. Refreshments were served after the party at the home of Paul Barrett. The-annual meeting of the SS 13, Mount Albert public school was held at the school on Wednesday evening, Dec. 23. A member of the board for 14 years, Mr. Joseph Harrison resigned his position. Russell Harrison, Ernest Nutt and Thomas Harrison were nominated as school board members for the coming year. The former was elected to succeed his father to assist Art Wagg and James Carlin, both of whom have not completed their term of office. An indication of the interest taken by ratepayers was shown when over 40 attended the meeting. A number of residents visited some of the downtown night spots and hotels that featured special attractions. Most of the folks, however, gathered at the homes of friends and many remained at home with their families to enjoy the special programs. Keswick â€" The United Church skating party on Wednesday evening was a great success, in spite of the short notice. Gord Hare was able to get an unexpected skating surface ready in time for the event.
