The challenge was renamed after its founder Bruce Birmingham this year in his memory after Birmingham died last summer. The annual fundraiser is hosted by the Oakville Hospital Foundationto purchase hospital beds for Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and the new Oakville hospital. It sees local banks campaign for a month to raise funds and then race hospital beds down LakeshoreRoad in downtown Oakville to compete for various titles from fastest to best spirit on race day.
