Halton meetsChinaApril 30Halton Multicultural Councils (HMC) annual fundraising gala, Halton Meets China will take place on Saturday, April 30.The event that celebrates Chinese culture will take place from 6 p.m. to midnight at St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre located at 1280 Dundas St. W.It will begin with cocktails, followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. The formal pro-gram will begin at 8:30 p.m. featuring live entertainment, fusion of Chinese and Canadian cuisine, a silent auction and the presentation of the second annual Community Leadership Award.The HMC is partnering with the Halton Region Chinese Canadian Association and Milton Chinese Association for the evening of cultural performances, live entertainment and a fusion of Canadian and Chinese cui-sine.The HMC is a charitable organiza-tion dedicated to enabling every indi-vidual, regardless of race or ethnic ori-gin, to participate as full and active members of the community through fostering mutual respect and under-standing of one another.Proceeds of the fundraising gala will benefit programs and services that facilitate and assist the settlement and integration of newcomers, immigrants and refugees on our own community.
