MONAGHAN, Philip Anthony
"It's Pronounced, MON-a-cun."
In his 68th year, following a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday, May 6, 2000 at Milton General Hospital. A former Christian Brother and department head at Georgetown District High School. Phil was also a celebrated artist and writer, eith a jaw-dropping command of the English language and a gift for creating truly memorable Christmas cards year after year. A life's work, Phil authored "Ever the Best Monaghans" in tribute to his parents, Lizzie (Best) and Bernard Monaghan, and their scots-Irish lineage. Sadly missed by his dear sisters, Jenny Connelly, Helen Mowry, Betty Hatton, Pat Sinclair and Rose Fowler, by his brother Bernie and Vince and by the entire family coast to coast. Loving husband of Sue (Shaughnessy) for 31 years. Phil is survived by Luke, Megan and the memories of his precious Katie. Visitation at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, Oakville, Ontario from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdayu, May 9 and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 10.
