discussion at the school gathering one parent reg hill asked the panel why teenagers neglect to phone their parents if they are going to be late does not phoning your father or mother to say youll be late bother your conscience at all panelist joel baxter 15 replied i dont know its probably in the back of my mind but i think it falls off that exhausted expression that parents are always forcing their ideals on teenagers came out during the discussion greg wilkes 15 of aurora said i dont think the way our parents were raised should reflect on us its different now than before and things have to change but teenagers have to do something to justify their being around the house rather than just eating and sleeping said greg referring to household chores the panel of teenagers exclaimed that they were con stantly under the pressure of their parents but one parent reacted by saying the only pressures teenagers are under come from their peers all through school panelist marlene york said parents try to buy their childrens love because they know no other way to express it but one parent said the only reason parents buy gifts for their children is to give them things parents never had but the core of the discussion was respect and understanding between teenagers and their parents and this meeting was simply an opportunity for each group to air their feelings rev alvin winger 89th
