Old resident is found dead

Jacob Henry McLean, lifelong resident of Clinton township, was found dead in his home at "The Thirty" late Friday by police who broke open a locked door to gain entrance after neighbours had reported that Mr. McLean, who lived alone, had not been seen around for the last couple of days. Dr. C.W. Elmore, of Beamsville, stated that death was from natural causes. The body was removed to the Buck funeral home in Beamsville and burial was made on Tuesday. In his 88th year, Mr. McLean was a son of the late Dr. Hugh McLean and was born directly across the highway from the place of his death. He had resided there all his life with the exception of a year and a half in Beamsville village. He was unmarried and his only survivor is a sister, Mrs. C.J. Roberts, of Creston, Ohio. He had followed the occupation of farming and fruit growing and was an ardent horse racing fan and was a frequent visitor to the Hamilton and Stamford tracks for years.
