Organizers say that Nikita is a female German Shepherd cross-breed, who was res- cued two months ago from a puppy mill in the Quinte area. The dog, who had been recently spayed, escaped Dec. 20 from a Mississauga home where she was being fostered in hopes of eventual adoption. She was last seen Thurs. Rescuers have been out each weekend since Nikita escaped and are planning anoth- er outing starting at dawn this Saturday morning.
