the International Silver Stick cham- pionship tournament. Goalies Jonathan Baratta and Horia Lucaciu helped the Rangers limit their opponents to only one goal during the tournament. Oakville scored 20 goals of its own on the way to an undefeated show- ing. The championship was Oakvilles second tournament title in three weeks, following a golden perform- ance at the Chicago Thanksgiving Classic Tournament in November. Harrison earned a silver in the senior female 200- metre backstroke and a bronze in the 400m individ- ual medley, also cracking the top 10 in the 200m breaststroke and 200m individual medley. Harrison was one of four OAK members repre- senting Team Ontario at the event, which featured some of the top young swimmers (ages 18 and under) from across the world. Mika Spencer, Kent Kikot and Reid Scarrow also qualified to represent Ontario, based on their excellent results in the pre- vious long-course season. Kikot finished 10th in the senior male 200m but- terfly and 200m freestyle. OAKs Jack Cavanaugh, Sharalynn Missiuna, Erin Assman, Julie Calvert, Sherry Patel and Holly Olsen represented the club at the meet. Calvert was ninth in the senior female 50m butterfly and 100m breast- stroke, adding 10th-place finishes in the 200m breaststroke and 200m individual medley. Missiuna was ninth in the senior female 50m freestyle and Patel was 10th in the senior female 50m butterfly. Calvert, Patel, Missiuna, Assman and Kikot all broke or tied OAK individual time records at the meet. Eighteen other OAK members recently competed in the Guelph Dash for Cash Meet, hosted by the Guelph Marlin Aquatic Club. Maggie Copland and Hugo Truong led OAK swim- mers at the meet. Copland won three gold and two silver, while Truong earned five silver and two bronze. Other gold winners for OAK at the meet were Collyn Gagne, Lauren Lalumiere, Nina Tomic and Scott Love. Sarah Cauvel, Marcelo Gamio, Vienna Holdip, Alexander Karam, Jay Lansiquot and Aidan Tyrrell won silvers, while Liam Charbonneau, Owen Duncan-Snobel, Sarah Hay, Kevin Scaife, John Steadman and Luka Tomic earned bronze. 10-YEAR CELEBRATION: The Oakville Taekwondo Club recently celebrated its 10th anniversary season with award presentations, entertainment and demonstrations at the YMCA of Oakville.
