The passing of Mrs. Bessie M. Garrett in Hamilton last Thursday, after a somewhat lengthy illness was a loss not only to her family, but also to the many friends and acquaintances she made all through this district when she was a resident of Beamsville. The late Mrs. Garrett was perhaps one of the most accomplished violinists in the Niagara Peninsula, and her playing had been enjoyed by many audiences throughout the district. Deceased was born in England and at the time of her death was in her 75th year. Surviving are her husband and six sons; Basil, of Owen Sound; Leslie in the Hudson Bay Territory; Duncan, R.C.A.F. Trenton; Ralph of Montreal; Edward of Buffalo; and Benjamin of Brethour; two daughters, Mrs. B.C. Greig, Toronto and Joan of Hamilton. The deceased also left six sisters residing in England. Funeral services were conducted from the J.W. Buck and Son Funeral Home, Beamsville, on Saturday, and interment was made in Mt. Osborne Cemetery. Rev. A.C. Eddy officiated.
