Melville November 1, 1916 - October 31, 2010 Born in Sheff ie ld England November 1, 1916, Mel was six years old when h e e m i g r a t e d t o C a n a d a w i t h h i s p a r e n t s W a l t e r a n d A n n i e M a e ( S t e p h e n s ) C o x . H e a t t e n d e d Burlington High School and McMaster University. He was also very proud of his service in the RAF dur ing World War II. In 1949 he married Lois Irene M a c G i b b o n , a n d t h e y h a d o n e daughter. Mel was active in the credit industry most of his working l ife. He was the President of the Credit Bureau o f G r e a t e r To r o n t o , s e r v e d a s a Nat ional Counci l lor of The Canadian C red i t I ns t i t u t e , was a member o f t h e I n s t i t u t e ' s N a t i o n a l E d u c a t i o n C o m m i t t e e a n d a D i r e c t o r o f T h e Canadian Credit Insti tute Educational Foundat ion . He was Pas t Pres iden t a n d D e a n o f t h e I n s t i t u t e , P a s t P res iden t o f the Assoc i a t ed C red i t Bureaus of Canada, Past President of t he C red i t G ran te rs Assoc i a t i on o f H a m i l t o n , a n d a m e m b e r o f t h e N a t i o n a l C r e d i t a n d F i n a n c i a l Executive's Forum. He had considerable contact with both government and the media in al l phases of consumer protection and education. Constance Passed away peacefully at the Burloak Long Term Care Center in Burlington on October 31, 2010. Constance was born in Golden, British Columbia August 1, 1912, and was raised in Ottawa. She lived most of her life in Oakville, although she did live for five years in the UK and ten years in South Africa before returning to Oakville. Constance was predeceased by her loving husband, James K. Hossack, and is survived by her only son, James M. Hossack and his wife Amy, of San Juan Capistrano, California. A memorial graveside service will be held on Tuesday November 9th, 2010 at 1:00pm at St. Jude's Cemetery, Lakeshore Road, Oakville.
