Susan Zeraik Sarah Larkin HealthOakville Beaver The 19th annual OTMH Candlelight Ball one of Oakvilles most popular social occasions is expected to reach new heights this year. Presented by Barringtons and Murrons Cabinetree, the ball will welcome those attend- ing to Joie de Vivre (Joy of Living), as a Canadian chef takes them on a culinary adventure high- lighting a taste of France. On Saturday, Nov. 6, famed Food Network host, CityLine guest and restaurateur Michael Bonacini and his team of Oliver & Bonacini CafGrill chefs will create a Parisian-themed menu exclusively for the OTMH Candlelight Ball. Bonacini will be on site to present a unique, exquisite and mouth watering culinary experi- ence. Were delighted to be involved once again in the OTMH Candlelight Ball. The sense of com- munity here in Oakville is really quite special, meaning when Oakvillians rally, they really rally. We consider ourselves fortunate to be part of all this, and to have the opportunity to give back a little on behalf of our staff and guests, said Chef Michael Bonacini, co-owner of Oliver & Bonacini Cafrill, Oakville Place. To add to the Joie de Vivre theme, the silent and live auctions will feature some great experi- ential items, including: a week in a St. Martin villa, a sports getaway in Boston where you will see the Bruins, Celtics and New England Patriots in action, a Muskoka golf package including a round of golf at Oviinbyrd and a priceless ski experience with former Canadian Olympian Ed Podivinsky. Joie de Vivre, this years OTMH Candlelight Ball exemplifies what we are trying to accom- plish with the proceeds from this and, for that matter, every gala, said Kathy Mundy, chair of the 2010 OTMH Candlelight Ball volunteer plan- ning committee. This is our largest annual fundraiser and this years proceeds are going to purchase, a new infant warmer for our Special Care Nursery, a critical care ventilator, an anesthesia gas machine and an ultrasound machine, all of which will be used in both our existing and new hospital. These machines will help our medical community give our community Joie de Vivre. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase a key for a chance to unlock one of three doors and win a 40-inch Sharp Quattron LED panel TV, courtesy of H2 Systems, an Aquila Pave Light bicycle, courtesy of Racer Sportif and a Quc City getaway including airfare and accommodations at Auberge Saint- Antoine, courtesy of McTavish Travel and WestJet. Since 1992, the Candlelight Ball has raised more than $3.8 million to provide life-saving medical equipment for OTMH. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and the close to 650 attendees, Oakville residents continue to have access to top-quality healthcare services, close to home.
