Stock up now to aid food drive Halton Police are looking for a man who appeared to be trying to look like a childrens television show character and drove into the Pineview Public School lot yesterday (Thursday) afternoon dangling a blue teddy bear out the win- dow. Police say shortly after 2 p.m. staff and stu- dents were surprised to see an odd-looking man driving through the lot in a large greyish-brown SUV similar to a GMC Suburban. A witness saw a partial plate licence number, either 174 or 175. The man appeared to be in his 40s, may have been wearing a fake moustache, and appeared to be trying to look similar to the male hero charac- ter from a television show titled Lazy Town. As the vehicle moved slowly through the lot, the man dangled a blue 8 teddy bear out the window and had music blaring from the stereo. When a school staff member began to approach the vehicle, the man drove off. No children were harmed. Anyone who may have seen the man or the SUV in the area is asked to call police at 905-878- 5511 ext. 2415 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 222-TIPS (8477).
